Understand the science behind BOTOX® Cosmetic.
On-label reconstitution
On-label reconstitution—2.5 mL for 100 Units—has been studied in clinical trials and is critical to providing predictable outcomes and repeatable results. Any change to reconstitution can lead to an underdiluted or overdiluted formulation.1
Injection technique
Understanding a patient's unique anatomy during an assessment, such as variability between individuals in frontalis structure and frontal anatomy, is important for outcomes.1,2
Dosage
FDA approval of 64 Units—20 Units in moderate to severe forehead lines, 24 Units in moderate to severe lateral canthal lines, and 20 Units in moderate to severe glabellar lines. Treatments should be spaced at least 90 days apart.1
Studies performed on neurotoxins have consistently shown a correlation between dose and duration.3-6
Duration is the measure of a product's treatment effectiveness over time.1
Some patients may incorrectly assume BOTOX® Cosmetic performs like a flat line, where results last up to 4 months in moderate to severe forehead lines, lateral canthal lines, and glabellar lines, with no gradual decline over time.
